Since you and your doctor agreed on all the details and decided to continue with Breast Lift Surgery, the procedure will be as follows:
The breast tissue is lifted and reshaped to improve the contour and firmness of the breasts
The nipple and areola move to a more youthful position.
If you have very large areolas, and if you wish, they can be reduced to a better size.
The skin of the superfluous breast is removed to improve the elasticity of the breast. The last step of Breast Lift Surgery is the closure of the incision.
Massages after Breast Lift
Massages are important after Mastopexy or Breast Lift Surgery. The cosmetic surgeon will determine when is the right time for you to start them. Because of the rare possibility of the incision opening, they prefer to wait until the incisions are completely healed from the Breast Lift Surgery before beginning the massage.
RECOVERY AFTER THE PROCEDURE
Dressings and bandages will be applied to the incisions after your Breast Lift Surgery is complete. You will need to use an elastic bandage or bra to minimize swelling and support your breasts while they are healing.
After breast lift surgery, you may experience discomfort, swelling and bruising, which usually last two to three weeks. Analgesics will make you feel more comfortable during the first weeks of recovery from breast lift.
Most women like to let at least a full week of work and return shortly after. Avoid raising your arms above your shoulders or lifting heavy objects for some time after breast lift surgery.
