However, it is possible to perform a breast lift procedure without the use of implants. The surgery usually last from two to three hours, depending on the variants of the procedure.

The main factor that determines whether or not you need a Breast Lift Surgery or a breast augmentation surgery has a lot to do with the position of the nipple and the general looseness of the breast tissue.

The best choice for you!

The plastic surgeons will determine if you need a breast lift surgery, a breast augmentation surgery or a combination of both.
If you have lost a lot of weight, or you have had a recent pregnancy and delivery or both, you might have a certain amount of loose skin that makes your breast look sagging. If this is your case a breast lift surgery will help reshape and tighten the skin creating a more youthful look to your breasts.

How is it done?

Since you and your doctor have agreed in all the details and decided to proceed with the Breast Lift Surgery the procedure will be the following:

1. The breast tissue is lifted and reshaped to improve the contour and firmness of your breasts
2. The nipple and areola are moved to a more youthful position.
3.If you have very large areolas, and if you so desire, these can be reduced to a better looking size.

4.Superfluous breast skin is removed to enhance the breast elasticity. The last step of the Breast Lift Surgery is the closing of the incision.

Some incision lines resulting from Breast Lift Surgery are concealed in the natural breast creases, but others are slightly visible on the breast surface. Incision lines are permanent, but in most cases will significantly fade over time.

All women desire the smallest and less visible scar possible. However, your surgeon at Juventus Cosmetic Surgery will explain to you and recommend the best type of incisions for your case.

Massages after the Breast Lift

Massages are important after the Mastopexy or Breast Lift Surgery. The cosmetic surgeon will determine when is the right time for you to start them. Because of the rare possibility that the incision will open they prefer to wait until the incisions are completely healed from the Breast Lift Surgery before starting the massaging.

Dressings and bandages will be applied to the incisions after your Breast Lift Surgery is completed. You will need to wear an elastic bandage or support brassiere to minimize swelling and support your breasts while they are healing.
Following Breast Lift Surgery, you may experience discomfort, swelling, and bruising, which typically last from two to three weeks. Analgesics will make you more comfortable during the first weeks of breast lift recovery.
Most women like to allow for at least one full week off work and return soon after that. Raising your arms above the shoulder levels or heavy lifting should be avoided for some time after the Breast Lifting Surgery.
